“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
(Jn 15:11 RSVCE)
St. John of the Cross would agree, that in order to know our Beloved, we must spend time with our Beloved. He would agree that time spent in Eucharistic Adoration is such a sublime measure of Heaven and a seeking of God Himself. If we seek a deeper relationship with God, we will be given the grace to pray and seek Him. Prayer is a response to the initiation of grace from God.
When we sit with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who is Really and Truly Present in the Blessed Sacrament, Present in all the Tabernacles of the world, we must make reparations by our silence and devotions of love. If one is injured, does not one make efforts to seek healing and the care necessary to become well again? So too with our heart, burdened and hardened by sin; we must seek out our Beloved to purposefully gather the courage to tackle the wiles of the world, the flesh and the devil. If we fight with the help of Our Lord Jesus Christ, we will find victory in the Light of God.
Prayer:
Into your hands, Lord, I commend all that I am and all that I have within me.
Let me not fall into despair. Instead, let me fall into Your Love and Mercy.
If I reach for anything, let it be union with You, O Triune God. Amen.
